I was amazed by how far this story went without anyone catching it. Journalists are under tremendous pressure these days to break the story -- any story (newsworthy or not) -- immediately and before the other guy. Nevermind fact checking! Lots of good tips for all of us. The only thing I think might be incorrect is your statement that Sherrod resigned after the video aired on a news network. I understand that the taped segment on this issue did air the same day but didn't happen until after she already resigned from her post.
